Wash the towels with one to two cups of vinegar and hot water. When that cycle is complete, wash them again, using detergent instead of vinegar. Dry the towels on the hottest setting.

Take the clothes with mold outside and brush off any loose mold growth. Leave fabric in the sun to dry out - heat and sun kill mildew. Pre-soak remaining stains in cold water, then wash in hot water with detergent. Allow to dry in the sun.
